Young Venglos Academy players captured Liverpool

Venglos Football Academy players lately arrived from by now third station in FC Liverpool. In a football club, residing at Anfield Road, they absolved a tournament two years ago, and a weekly training camp one year ago. This time, two U-17 players took part – Tomáš Bagin and František Gorner. Both took ten training sessions, compared their own abilities also with two years older FC Liverpool talents. They took a taste of island training tempo.

Nine training fields provide sufficient conditions for phenomenon expansion in Great Britain. One of the fields is covered with artificial turf, providing training process also in miserable weather. Two Slovak football talents have meet with FC Liverpool stars at the head of Gerard Houllier, and had a chance to enjoy the atmosphere of a Premier League match between Liverpool and Tottenham. Unfortunately, they didn't see a goal.

In Venglos Football Academy, 14 coaches devote almost 200 players. The Academy founder is the successful coach Jozef Venglos, who leaded besides the Czechoslovak national team also prominent European clubs, such as Sporting Lisbon, Aston Villa, Fenerbache Istanbul and Celtic Glasgow. Nowadays, he is the chairman of UEFA technical committee, president of European football coaches union (UEFT), and International football federation (FIFA) technical adviser. The Academy director is Jozef Venglos jr., where also coach Ivan Vrabec, Ľubomír Šimončič, and others. The leading cooperation with British clubs started with Scottish Celtic Glasgow. We go the good direction. Guys captured the attention, so FC Liverpool is interested in further cooperation with us. Next time, we could go with more players, said Jozef Venglos.

Basic and high school Pankúchova found special education process for talented classes, which also the academy players attend. The Academy resides close to the Polygraf training field, made a fusion with this club and competes in youth competitions with ten teams. Also other clubs from all over Slovakia are interested, so forward looking, they think about their activity expansion in other directions. Tryouts for young players take place on Mondays in the afternoon.
